What to Expect on Basket Build Day!

Thank you for joining HTX Basket Brigade on our mission to spread warmth and gratitude this Thanksgiving season! We’re excited to have you as part of our Basket Build Day on November 23rd at 9:30 am CST at McIntyre’s Downtown, where we’ll come together to create Thanksgiving baskets for families across Houston.

Start Time and Arrival

Kick off your day with us at 9:30 am sharp! We’ll start gathering then, but if you’re running a little behind, no worries—just come as you are. Our team is ready to welcome you whenever you arrive and get you started right away.

The Day’s Activities

Here’s what you can look forward to during this impactful, hands-on event:

1. Unload the Truck
   Our day begins with unloading food items, supplies, and materials from our delivery trucks. This is where we set the foundation for the day, and every set of hands helps us get organized quickly and efficiently.

2. Set Up the Tables
   After unloading, we’ll get to work setting up tables for each basket component. This station-based approach keeps everything running smoothly, with tables dedicated to different food items and Thanksgiving essentials.

3. Craft the Baskets
   This is the heart of the event! Volunteers will work together to pack each basket with care, ensuring every family receives the ingredients for a complete Thanksgiving meal. You’ll receive guidance from our team, so no experience is necessary—just a big heart and a willingness to help!

4. Reload for Delivery
   Once our baskets are packed and ready, we’ll reload them onto trucks for delivery to our distribution sites. Partner organizations will then ensure each basket reaches a family in need, spreading joy and gratitude across Houston.
